Embrace the Angel is a book I would recommend to anyone. It is one of those books that you start and can not put down. It has such great emotion, love and courage. It made me thank god for what I have today. It has a great story line and will teach anyone not to give up on life and to live it to the fullest day by day. This book has shown me the true meaning of love. It has shown me that I can be strong and make it through anything with faith. What an amazing, strong, caring, loving mother that shows you the meaning of life & death through a child and her stories. I recommend this book to anyone!
This is a story that breaks the heart then stitches it back together with love, hope and beautiful spirit. The story of Amber and Patti is one of love and storms and sunlight shining through. The beauty of this child, the strength of this mother and the pure love they share touched all of my emotions. I smiled, laughed and cried with them. I found myself infuriated at the storms they faced then softened by the beautiful spirit they share.
This is a book to be read, a love to be cherished and wisdom to be savored.
I had the pleasure of reading this book and WOW. To say it is full of raw emotion is an understatement. The reader truly goes on a journey with DeMicelli. The ups and the downs, it is like being inside Patti's head, thinking her thoughts and feeling her feelings. A touching book.
Embrace the Angel......emotion, pain, strength, love, Courage and Faith! This book is full of it all! I read this book and was compelled to keep reading until I was finished. It made me see life in a whole new light. The touch of my childs hand, the wisdom I know it my heart, as a mother.... this book made me understand that as anyone reads this book, it makes you feel alive! It is about a woman full of wisdom, courage, determination, forgiveness and love. A heart full of compassion, and the instinct only a mother knows!
Truly after I finished reading this book, my life changed. I know the blessings I have in my life, I know the friends that I share my life with are my true treasures and my family. I invite you to sit back and read the true life of a beautiful woman who never gave up. She did what any mother would have done, and that is to love your child, the only way we know how, one day at a time, one minute at a time, and one life at a time. That is when we look to what the future holds, what is here after and what truly lies ahead in the after life.
I read Patti's book about twenty years ago and was struck by how no one can imagine the loss of a child except a parent. And, to have lost her most precious friend in the world at such an early, innocent age must have been permanently devastating.
Ms. DiMicelli has made it her life's work to learn about every facet of her loss; all the while trying to help others like her and bringing an awareness of the dangers all around us.
We should all read this heart wrenching, eye opening story repeatedly. We have a great lesson to learn about dying and the life that goes on around it as well as the hope and peace that we all deserve.
